Environmental Social and Governance Plan

Environmental

Canes Midstream is committed to protecting the environment and recognizes the importance of being a prudent and responsible operator. In addition to compliance with all federal and state emissions management requirements, we focus on proactively lowering our carbon intensity to meet our mission of connecting energy producers with their customers, while minimizing impact to the environments in which we work and live.

Our operating and design practices incorporate environmental planning as a key element, and we utilize environmentally conscious equipment where feasible. Examples of such proactive environmental management include:

  • Utilizing electric driven compression
  • Installing low bleed pneumatic controllers in new compressor stations
  • Conducting proactive leak detection and repair inspections using advanced leak detection techniques such as Optical Gas Imaging (OGI)

In addition to emissions management, we recognize the importance of biodiversity and seek to avoid or minimize impact to the natural resources adjacent to our assets. Our efforts focus on protecting native species and their natural habitats and employing risk mitigation measures to minimize the impact of any uncontrolled release.

Social

As part of our shared values, we support the communities where our employees live and work. We operate our business in a manner that respects all people and the communities in which we do business. Canes is an equal opportunity employer and has a diverse workforce that reflects a commitment to our local communities. We focus on supporting our employees for meaningful career opportunities, including training and development opportunities that provide a foundation for internal promotion.

Safety is vital to preserving our business and operations. We are committed to the continuous improvement of our safety performance by engaging our employees and contractors through ongoing communications, participation in training programs and sharing best practices and lessons learned.

Canes uses an integrity management plan to keep our pipelines and plants running safely. We continuously monitor our pipelines through field inspection, aerial patrols and 24-hour observation from our operations control center. Canes also routinely conducts public outreach education routinely with excavating contractors, emergency response officials and the affected public.
